Meeting of interested parties
On May 22, 2009, a group of five independent Alberta based telecom strategists met to discuss the growing telecommunications gap now being endured by Canadians and Canadian communities in comparison to other world citizens and communities.
The group of five strategists discussed current Canadian political
dynamics – municipal, provincial and federal; current telecommunication
proposals and projects being encountered; and future telecom program
initiatives anticipated in Alberta and Canada.
One of the initiatives – the community FTTH proposal - received
significant support as a most probable business strategy that could
achieve success in the Canadian market. These same telecom strategists
also considered business recommendations for partnership and structure
to encourage private and public investment to strengthen Community FTTH
program initiatives in Canada.
